Consob has ordered to be blacked out the following websites:

The number of websites blacked out since July 2019 has thus risen to 623.

Consob published the Notice of 3 February 2022 regarding the revocation of communications no. 9019104 of 2 March 2009 and no. 0097996 of 22 December 2014.

In the context of MiFID I, Consob had taken action, through the issuance of specific acts of soft law, with a view to increasing the level of investor protection, anticipating at national level some of the safeguards subsequently introduced by MiFID II/MiFIR and by the complementary legislation mentioned above. In particular, Communications No. 9019104 of 2 March 2009 and No. 0097996 of 22 December 2014 addressed interpretative/applicative clarifications and recommendations to intermediaries for the distribution of illiquid and complex financial products to customers.

ESMA has published a Call for Evidence on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) ratings.

The aim is to gather information on the market structure for ESG rating providers in the European Union (EU)  and to develop a picture of the size, structure, resourcing, revenues and product offerings of the different ESG rating providers operating in the EU.

The call is mainly addressed to three target groups:

  • ESG rating providers;
  • users of ESG ratings; and
  • entities subject to rating assessment of ESG rating providers.

Today’s Call for Evidence is intended to complement a separate consultation to be launched by the European Commission (EC), that will seek stakeholder views on the use of ESG ratings by market participants and the functioning and dynamics of the market.

Stakeholders are invited to submit their responses by 11 March 2022

ESMA has published its fourth annual statistical report on the Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) sector.

The report covers the 30 members of the European Economic Area (EEA30) and shows that the sector increased by 8% in 2020 to EUR 5.9trn in net assets from EUR 5.5trn in 2019.

EIOPA has published the technical information on the symmetric adjustment of the equity capital charge for Solvency II with reference to the end of January 2022.

EIOPA published the technical information on the relevant risk free interest rate term structures (RFR) with reference to the end of January 2022.
